JONGA NA (KR) feedbacker (2025)
'feedbacker' explores sonic possibilities through no-input mixing board systems. Without external sources, the work focuses on recursive audio feedback loops—circuits that self-generate, self-oscillate, and continuously mutate. Unstable resonance fragments are captured, filtered, and reassembled into shifting temporal structures. No-input mixing board sounds reconfigure into sequences drifting without clear purpose or repetition, embodying perpetual instability. Rather than imposing narrative or imagery, the work allows system's inherent instability and complexity to dictate sonic form. 'feedbacker' reflects on emergence from emptiness, uncontrolled recursion's beauty, and delicate tension between structure and collapse.
BOYI BAI (UK) Fractured Ceremonies
This piece is based on a field recording of a drum and gong ensemble performance in Beijing's Forbidden City. In Chinese culture, such performances are traditionally associated with ceremonial events, including weddings, funerals, housewarmings, Lunar New Year celebrations, and dragon or lion dances. In my composition, I deconstructed the original recording, isolating specific elements, such as the cymbal strikes, and used granular synthesis to generate new sonic materials. This piece invites listeners to reconsider these sounds, exploring their intrinsic plasticity and uncovering the deeper potential within them.
HECTOR BRAVO BENARD (MX/ND) Broken Hourglass
This piece explores sound transformation through filtering, chaotic synthesis, and electromagnetic field recordings. Its palette includes processed acoustic textures, glitch bursts, and resonant harmonics within a dynamic spatial environment. Layers of filtered instrumental sounds interact with electromagnetic recordings from a train journey, evolving into glitchy, unstable bursts from chaotic circuits. Rhythmic elements emerge, accelerating before reaching a dense climax and fragmenting into decay. The title reflects distorted time—rushing or slipping away unnoticed. Through granular textures, pulsing rhythms, and spectral shifts, it evokes a fractured temporal world.
LUCA MUCCI (IT) Uneven Tide (2025)
